The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is an international trade organization of air transport companies and lobby. Its companies are specially authorized to consult the prices through this body.
Customer issues:
With a large number of archived documents, the executive assistant regularly needed to go through them to get information. IATA was therefore looking for a tool that would facilitate the search of both recent and old documents (paper format). The data was not structured, not always in excellent condition (1945) and contained a large number of subjects (finance, security, environment…) within the same document.
Development:
We chose to conserve their documents and split them into several sections (each section = a distinct theme). Subsequently, InspireMe autonomously provided all the dominant themes, classified and mapped them following the logic of “who looks alike assembles”. We then added insights that would facilitate their research as if by inspiration and the ability to see the similar documents.
Final application:
We made our InspireMe platform available with enriched data.
Result:
Now, the IATA employees can use the 100,000 administrative documents to find answers to specific questions. For example, management might ask, “what impact Covid has had on the aviation industry?” InspireMe would understand what they need, search through the vast repository of information on pandemics and other similar topics, and instantly provide high-level insights. Through a set of related queries, management could therefore obtain a clear picture of the effects of Covid on airlines.
